Dogs are capable of being very dangerous. Depending on the severity of the injury, we will handle the injury in an appropriate manner. We will care for your dog in whatever way you direct us to, or, if you are unavailable, we will make our best efforts to care for your dog as if the dog were our own. We are not veterinarians, but we tend to err on the side of caution, so if we aren’t sure, we are more likely than not to take the dog to the vet. In the event that we are able to contact you, and the dog needs urgent veterinary care but you refuse, depending on the dog’s situation, the severity of the problem, and our comfort level continuing to care for the dog at the facility, we may choose to override your decision and take the dog to a veterinarian to be monitored and treated.
